DARTMOUTH-LAKE SUNAPEE region

Update for Friday, October 24, 2014:  Past Peak

For the most part, The Dartmouth/Lake Sunapee region has wrapped up the foliage season, but there is still some color to be found out there. Head out along Route 4 towards Salisbury or Andover, where the distant views of Mount Kearsarge are still quite striking with rust and faded yellow leaves remaining in the hillsides. The same goes for the Connecticut River area, where the last few leaves are muted browns and golds. These colors still look beautiful when the sun hits, so with a nice forecast in store for the weekend, head out for a drive along the river on route 12 or 12A. A great weekend destination in this region is the town of Hanover. You can visit the stunning campus of Dartmouth College, where you’ll still find some pretty yellow trees decorating campus. Then head downtown for fantastic shopping and dining.
