GREAT NORTH WOODS Region

Update for Tuesday, September 16, 2014:  20% Peak

While still a ways out from hitting peak foliage, the Great North Woods has seen some nice color change over the past week. With the recent cooler weather and drizzly rain,  the red tones have deepened almost to a crimson tone. The oranges have also begun to turn almost to a pumpkin color and more yellow tones are beginning to come through. While there is still a ways to go in Pittsburg and Clarksville, the leaves are expected to change quickly over the next week. Route 3 in Pittsburg from the CT lakes to the Canadian border is showing the most colors in the area. Route 145 and West Road in Clarksville are also a good bet for a scenic drive right now.
