Update for Friday, September 26, 2014:  80% Peak

Peak foliage is getting closer and closer in the Great North Woods region- this weekend should be prime time for leaf peeping!  The colors have changed very fast in and around Whitefield, with many areas close to 100% of peak now. Route 3 from Whitefield to Lancaster is showing beautiful color, with some areas just about fully turned. Route 116 from Whitefield to Jefferson is also going to be a gorgeous drive this weekend, with stunning color around almost every turn. The area near Mt Washington Regional Airport is still at about 50% of peak, but shows a wonderful view of the Presidential Range decked out in color. Route 16 from Berlin to Errol through the 13 Mile Woods would be a lovely drive this weekend.  You can view the changing colors against the backdrop of the beautiful Androscoggin River.
