Update for Friday, September 19, 2014:  20% Peak

The cold nights this week have brought daily changes to the foliage in the Great North Woods region.  We're still probably a week or two out from peak foliage here, but most of the wet areas have now changed to bright red and other trees are showing more yellows now too.  At this time, it seems like the western part of the region has changed more quickly than the eastern side.  So try a drive along Route 3 in Pittsburg from the CT lakes to the Canadian border for a viewing of the best color in the area right now.  Over near Lake Umbagog in Errol, the colors still need a little more time to fully develop.
