It is becoming exceedingly important to take the time to nurture the relationships that we have and reconnect the relationships that we have had. In New Hampshire, you will likely hear the laughter of family and friends who are reminiscing about their most important memories or feel the gentle handshake from a fellow military comrade who has lived through a significant part in all of our lives.

New Hampshire has a variety of venues from grand resorts and bustling downtown boutique inns to rustic campgrounds and large cabins. There are four-seasons of excitement from getting first-tracks on ski trails to jumping off of a party boat in the middle of a pristine, island-filled lake. There’s scenery that is filled with the famous White Mountains and scenery that has lighthouses and sand castles. You will meet welcoming Granite Staters who love what they do and many are VERY good at it such as our juried craftsmen and proud business owners.

Step 1: Where do you want to go?
You can learn about how the tourism region and season you choose can completely set the tone for the entire group experience.

Step 2: How long will your reunion last?
If you want your reunion to last a day, then your biggest priority is probably finding who has the function space that you need and how you will feed your group. You can search venues of different kinds by using our meeting planning resource www.meetings.visitnh.gov/. It is okay if you are not planning a “meeting” exactly. You will still find the information useful. On that site, you can search by location, sort by function space size, and find suppliers such as photographers, caterers, and private transportation. Note – many lodging properties and venue locations have their own restaurants onsite or catering contracts which can take a lot of the worry off of your shoulders.

If you want to plan a multi-day reunion, then you probably have many more questions such as - Do I want the entire group to stay together? What type of property would I want to use? Will there be activities onsite or nearby? Can we cater our meals? Can we cook our own meals? Using the lodging search on VisitNH.gov, you can select Advanced Search to sort using criteria such as properties that are family-friendly, group friendly, that are waterfront, and that have function space. If you are unsure of the options you have in a particular part of New Hampshire, we recommend that you give us a call for more specific direction at (603) 271-6870 or reach out to a regional Chamber of Commerce.

Step 3: What are you going to do during your reunion?
If you want to hold a formal reception during your reunion (which works best at certain military, educational, or club reunions), we recommend that you explore our meeting planning website www.meetings.visitnh.gov and sort your search by capacity or size of reception space. Most venues have A/V equipment, food & beverage, and many other all-inclusive services.

Every reunion should have some element of fun! You can bring fun to the reunion with DJs or by holding a lobster bake. You may also want to consider bringing in a team-building expert or craftsmen. You can find team-building experts in the Services tab on www.meetings.visitnh.gov. We recommend that you contact the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen or New Hampshire Made for ideas about bringing in someone who could do a class or demonstration with your group.

You can bring your reunion to the fun by searching What to Do. We recommend that if you have a group greater than 10 people that you consider reaching out to a tour planning professional (also called a receptive tour operator) to see what they can do to help you plan activities and other details. Many professionals have inside connections and can find exclusive group rates that you can’t find otherwise. If you have a group greater than 10 but you want to plan activities yourself, don’t forget to ask attractions and activities if they have group rates.
