Description

Gundalows are flat bottomed, shallow drafted cargo vessels once common on the waterways of the Piscataqua Maritime Region. The Gundalow Company maintains two historically accurate replica sailboats that are used for dockside education programs as well as day sails and private charters. Visit our shop & exhibit at 60 Marcy Street at Strawbery Banke in Portsmouth - or check the website for a current schedule and list of 2013 events. Sailing on a gundalow is a unique experience, and something the whole family can enjoy. The scenic Piscataqua river makes for an idyllic backdrop for groups, couples, or individuals seeking to explore the waterways of the Piscataqua Maritime Region. Day sails, sunset sails, school trips and lecture series all available starting Memorial Day and running through Columbus Day.
