The Comic Genius of Bob Marley back at the Palace Theatre for two shows! You’ve seen Bob on LENO, LETTERMAN, CONAN, the late show with Craig Ferguson, and the movie BOONDOCK SAINTS! Cutting his teeth in comedy clubs and watering holes around Boston and his hometown of Portland, Maine, Bob Marley was drawn to stand-up while at college. His comic sensibilities were often called on as stress relief for fellow students and instructors alike. He commuted regularly to open mic nights at the Comedy Connection in Boston, as well as trying to book local spots around the rural pubs in Maine. Marley’s seemingly endless open mic stints paid off when he was called by another state university who had heard of him. The gig gave him a paycheck and the confirmation that this was going to be his career, without question. Soon after, Marley had become a regular at the Comedy Connection in both Boston and Portland and had performed alongside such greats as Rosie O’Donnell and Richard Lewis, only one year in to his professional standup career. It was in this environment that he began developing his signature style; a blend of biographical humor, honest perspectives on his home state, and finding the underlying comedy apparent in everyday life.
