Mountain Biking
If you are looking for a great place to go mountain biking, The New Hampshire Trails Bureau has information on places to ride in New Hampshire State Parks, Forests, and on the Recreational Rail Trails. The New England Mountain Bike Association also lists a number of places to ride. Or, check out the following locations that offer mountain biking throughout the Granite State.
Mountain Bike Specific Parks:
Highland Mountain Bike Park in Northfield is a lift access mountain bike park 100% dedicated to bikes. Trails range from beginner to advanced. 2 acre jump park, slopestyle park, dirt halfpipe, skills development center, newly renovated base lodge, café, bar with beer and wine, bike pro shop with rental bikes, licensed non-transport medical facility, complete learn to ride packages, camps and summer ride programs, bike competitions and festivals.
Ski Areas offering summer mountain biking opportunities:
Attitash in Bartlett offers lift-serviced, downhill terrain, cross-country trail networks and shuttle service to the White Mountain National Forest. The popular Thorne Pond Trail System offers fun and gentle terrain along the Saco River for the whole family. A full rental fleet is also available, and includes front suspension cross-country bikes as well as full-suspension downhill bikes.
Bretton Woods Resort in Bretton Woods offers lift-serviced downhill mountain biking and scooter riding on maintained mountain bike and scooter trails, as well as cross-country mountain biking on single and double track trails. They also have a Skills Park where you can catch some air and show off your stunts on jumps and freestyle elements like teeter-totters and a box.
Gunstock Mountain in Guilford offers numerous mountain bike trails and bike rentals are available. A Trail Pass is required and maps are available in Guest Services.
Loon Mountain in Lincoln offers a full-service bike center with complete bicycle rentals, sales and repairs, as well as the inside scoop on the best places to ride. Families enjoy the popular Franconia Notch tour, while others enjoy the mountain bike adventures of the cross-country trail system.
Pats Peak in Henniker holds an annual 24 Hour Mountain Bike Festival, featuring a 3 different events spread over one weekend of fun! This years festival is scheduled for July 11-12.
Waterville Valley Resort in Waterville Valley offers lift serviced biking on over 30 miles of marked, well-maintained trails through the National Forest. There's also plenty of road-riding available too, on our miles of smooth roads winding throughout the valley. State-of-the-art bikes are available for sale or rent, including K2 and Iron Horse full suspension bikes, tandems, trailers, and more.
