New Hampshire Lakes
New Hampshire is New England's land of lakes. There are 273 in our Lakes Region alone and a whopping 1,300 ponds and lakes statewide. But don't spend time tallying them. Swim, sail, canoe, tube, waterski, Jet Ski, kayak, cruise, paddleboard, pedal-boat, fish ... and wish that each vacation day at the lake could last more than 24 hours. There's something about being on the water that resets your rhythms; our cool, clear liquid will rinse away your worries and stress.
Lake Winnipesaukee isn't just New Hampshire's largest lake. It's a Guinness World Record holder. At LakeFest 2014, 396 canoes and kayaks were launched from Weirs Beach onto Lake Winnipesaukee in a span of 15 seconds, shattering the existing record for the largest number of canoes and kayaks launched simultaneously on a single body of water. Winnipesaukee sprawls across 69 square miles, so no matter how many boats and personal watercraft dot its shimmering surface, there’s always plenty of room for yours.
