Description

The New London Historical Society is a non-profit volunteer organization committed to preserving and presenting the history of the New London, NH area. Founded in 1954, the Society maintains a village of 19th century buildings and a collection of horse-drawn vehicles, an extensive textile collection, and a reference library. The Village contains a farmhouse with attached English-style barn, herb garden, implement and carriage sheds, a blacksmith shop, a school house and privy, a country store, a viol-making and carriage-paint shop, a fire house, hearse house, meeting house and transportation building. Year-round activities include open hours from Memorial Day to Labor Day, monthly dessert and lecture socials, programs for school children, special features throughout the summer, Old Home Day in September and a Holiday Open House in early December.
