Snowmobile Conditions

March 24, 2017

Thank you to all landowners that allow snowmobile riders to enjoy the use of their property during the season! Thank you to all the clubs that work in partnership with the landowners to maintain the trails! Thank you to all the riders that registered their sleds so there is funding for trail maintenance! Thank you to Mother Nature for a better winter than last; please remember us next year too!

Northern NH

Riders should use CAUTION as spring conditions in most areas – ice, water bars, exposed objects! Check here for areas not listed below to see if the trails you want to ride are still open and their conditions.

Pittsburg
3” to 4” new snow. Club will groom 4 machines through this weekend. Thanks to all that donated to grooming fund.

Diamond Pond/Coleman State Park
Groomed; good riding conditions.

Colebrook
Groomed; marginal riding conditions in lower elevations; good riding in higher elevations. Some ice.

Errol
Groomed; good to excellent riding conditions.

Milan
Groomed; moderate riding conditions.

Cambridge
Groomed; good riding conditions.

Berlin
Groomed; good riding conditions. Winter ATV use is in Jericho State Park ONLY.

East Side of Berlin/Success
NOT groomed. Winter ATV use is in Jericho State Park ONLY.

Gorham
Groomed; good riding conditions. Corridor 19 south of the Town & Country is NOT groomed.

Groveton/Nash Stream
Groomed; good riding conditions. Groveton Village is NOT groomed; marginal conditions.

Stratford
Groomed; good to excellent riding conditions. Corridor 3 marginal conditions. Use CAUTION – logging on Percy Road and Blue Mountain/Cree Notch areas.

Dalton
Groomed; good riding conditions. Logging on PT100 – use CAUTION!

Jefferson
Groomed; good riding conditions higher elevations. Lower elevations have marginal conditions.

Lancaster
Marginal riding conditions.

Whitefield
Marginal riding conditions.

Littleton
4” to 8” base. Marginal conditions in lower elevations; good conditions in higher elevations. Recommended to AVOID PT105 north of Industrial Park Road as rails and switches.

Lisbon
Good riding conditions in higher elevations. Trails like Corridor 5 are bare in many areas.

Twin Mountain
Marginal in-town conditions. Jefferson Notch area is good riding conditions.

Franconia Notch Bike Path
NOT groomed. ATV use is NOT ALLOWED on the bike path at any time.

Campton/Thornton
No report.

Central NH

Riders should expect spring conditions on open trails. Use CAUTION – ice, water bars, exposed objects! Check here for areas not listed below to see if the trails you want to ride are still open and their conditions.

Ashland/Holderness
3” to 6” base. Lower elevation trails are CLOSED. Trails in Perch Pond to Sandwich Notch are open – need to trailer, not much parking.

Baker River
Corridor 5 in Groton is open in higher elevations. Corridor 8 from clubhouse to Green Camp is CLOSED. Moderate to good riding conditions.

Bear Notch/Bartlett
6” to 12” base; 1” new snow. Groomed; good riding conditions. Some exposed rails. Watch for mushers and cross-country skiers! Stay on trails!

Belmont
Trails and GATES are CLOSED on trail system per club.

Castle in the Clouds
CLOSED

Conway
Grooming has ceased. Minimal snow coverage, especially on rails. Park at Marshall Lot to ride Red’s Trail to Cathedral Ledge.

Madison
3” to 6” base Not groomed; marginal to moderate riding conditions.

Moultonborough
CLOSED

Ossipee Area
2” to 4” base. Not groomed; marginal to moderate riding conditions. Use CAUTION on rail road tracks as exposed. Trails to Castle are CLOSED.

Pillsbury State Park
CLOSED

Southern NH

Bear Brook State Park
CLOSED for season to both snowmobiles and OHRVs (ATVs).

Greenfield State Park
No reportable riding at this time.

Hopkinton/Everett
CLOSED

Pawtuckaway State Park
CLOSED for season to both snowmobiles and OHRVs (ATVs).

Pisgah State Park
CLOSED for season to both snowmobiles and OHRVs (ATVs).

Weare
CLOSED

Recreational Rail Trails (State-owned):

NOTE: Clubs are in the process of closing open gates. They should be done this weekend. USE CAUTION!

Ammonoosuc: Gates are open. OHRV use year round.
Ashuelot: Gates are closed.
Cheshire Line: Clubs closing gates.
Farmington: Club to close gates on Saturday.
Fort Hill Line: Gates are closed.
Hillsborough: Clubs closing gates.
Northern: Clubs closing gates.
Presidential: Clubs closing gates.
Rockingham: Gates are closed.
Sugar River: Gates are open. OHRV use year round.

Railroad Corridors:

Riding on ACTIVE railroad tracks is illegal and extremely dangerous. Riders should not operate along, within, or across active railroads. Railroads that become snowmobile trails are signed open for winter use and are listed on this website.

Concord to Lincoln (Exit 18/Canterbury to Exit 32/Lincoln): Belting on trestle bridges has been removed from Canterbury to Laconia. Rails are exposed on entire line. No grooming. Recommend riders avoid this section.
Bartlett/Bear Notch: 6” to 12” base; 1” new snow. Groomed; good riding conditions. Some exposed rails. Watch for mushers and cross-country skiers! Stay on trails!
Whitefield to Groveton/Corridor 5A: Not open for snowmobile use this season.
