Snowmobile Conditions

February 17, 2017

There is plenty of snow across the state for riding. If you have waited to see what kind of winter we would have, wait no more! Register your sleds and enjoy some riding with the family during the long weekend and school vacation!

Kearsarge Trail Snails keeping the trails groomed atop Mt. Kearsarge morning of February 17, 2017

To join a participating NH Snowmobile Association (NHSA) affiliated snowmobile club go here, PRIOR to visiting a registration agent, from your computer or smart phone. Then just print your membership from your computer or show the agent your membership on your phone to register your sled. Please note that if you visit an agent thinking you will fill out your usual club’s hard copy membership form and the agent doesn’t have any – this does not mean the club isn’t accepting memberships! Check the NHSA site to see if they are participating and join on your smartphone. The process is very easy to do and allows you to access your club membership anytime, like if you need to get a replacement registration. You can also join more than one club, make donations to clubs, and access your account via your smart at any time. For those of you coming from the South, the Hooksett Rest Area offers snowmobile registrations!

Please Stay Safe on the Ice.

Riders in the Laconia area should note that the Laconia World Championship Sled Dog Derby  will be going on this today through Sunday. Please use CAUTION on the trails and yield to mushers. Thank you!

A reminder that in NH the maximum speed limit is 45 mph. Depending upon trail conditions it can be less, so pay attention to signage! Please ride within your means and stay to the right of the trail. We share the trails with many other user types: mushers, cross country skiers, hikers, as well as wildlife. Riders should yield to all other users. Riders should never ride behind wildlife – pull over to the side and turn off your sled – wait until the wildlife exits the trail system before resuming.

Check here for specific trail information on where you are planning to ride and see the bottom of this report for some fun snowmobile events!
