In 2001, the Manchester Monarchs, the AHL affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings, played their first game on their home ice at the brand-new, 9,000-seat Verizon Wireless Arena. It's fitting that the state's number one professional sport is hockey: the University of New Hampshire men's and women's hockey teams have been filling the UNH rink for decades, vying for the national championship. The Dartmouth College women's hockey program has been a powerhouse, contributing a number of players to the silver medal-winning U.S. Olympic women's hockey team.
For information on the Manchester Monarchs, call 603-626-7825 or visit.
For the college hockey schedules, visit UNH for information, or Dartmouth College.
