Spring in New Hampshire is a season of transition. Longer days, changing weather, and the slow return of color to the landscape. While the sunny days may draw you outside, a cooler day or a rainy afternoon offers the perfect chance to explore something different. Across the state, museums invite you to step inside and connect with history, art, science and cultures from around the world. Whether you’re looking to learn something new or simply spend a thoughtful afternoon, these 8 museums are worth a visit this spring.

Currier Museum of Art, Manchester
Spring Hours:
Open Wednesday - Sunday

Home to pieces that span centuries, the Currier offers visitors a place to pause and take in both classic and contemporary art. It’s also the only museum in the world with two homes designed by renounced architect, Frank Lloyd Wright, offering visitors a chance to experience architecture as art.

McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center, Concord
Spring Hours:
Open Wednesday - Sunday

Astronomy and aviation are the focus when you step inside the Discovery Center. Hands-on exhibits and a full-dome planetarium give visitors an up close and personal look at the vastness of the universe. It’s an opportunity to look up, ask questions, and engage with hands-on exhibits.

Located at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, this museum celebrates the region’s deep motorsports roots. Race cars, motorcycles, memorabilia, and interactive exhibits, from a slot car track to a racing simulator, and even a Soap Box Derby display, bring the history of New England racing to life.

NH Telephone Museum, Warner
Spring Hours:
Open in April: Fridays & Saturdays; May: Tuesday - Fridays

A visit here is a reminder of how quickly the world can change. With hundreds of telephones and artifacts on display, this small but engaging museum traces how we’ve stayed connected over time, and how quickly that technology has evolved.

Remick Country Doctor Museum & Farm, Tamworth
Spring Hours:
Open Daily

Even in early spring, there’s plenty to experience outdoors at this historic 200-year-old farmstead. Most of the buildings remain temporarily closed, but visitors can explore the walking trails, visit the farm animals, and see the landscape as it comes back to life.

Seacoast Science Center, Rye
Spring Hours:

Set within Odiorne Point State Park, this center connects visitors to the natural systems just beyond its doors. Through interactive exhibits and coastal views, it encourages a deeper understanding of marine life, and the role we all play in protecting it.
