New Hampshire’s wide-open spaces and serene landscapes are the perfect setting for a laid-back vacation. Where you can finally take time to relax, unplug, and recharge on your own terms. With plenty of private spaces, tranquil settings, and easy activities to choose from—you’ll have no trouble planning a perfectly relaxed summer getaway in the Granite State!

Check in, Chill Out

There’s no better feeling than arriving at your destination and immediately feeling at ease. That’s what you’ll find at accommodations across the state, especially when you book a scenic lakeside cabin or a peaceful bed and breakfast where you’ll be greeted by name each morning. Whether you choose to relax with nature in the Great North Woods region, or a calming oceanfront getaway on the Seacoast, the warm summer sun and fresh air of the Granite State are ready to whisk your cares away.

Next Up, Fun

Once you’ve had plenty of time to unplug and settle in—it’s time to get out and explore. We like to say New Hampshire offers variety within proximity, so whether you head north to the White Mountains in search of serene mountain views, or you scope out a spot on the sandy shores of one of the state’s 944 lakes or ponds – your next excursion is never too far away. Plus, you can always grab a seat on a scenic chairlift at one of the state’s ski resorts for an effortless way to take in sweeping mountain views.

In the western part of the state, the Monadnock Region is an oasis of inspiring landscapes and a peacefully slower pace of life where a network of leisurely rail trails offer endless options for bike riders to explore. Or maybe you’d prefer floating on a meandering river or paddling on the gentle waters of Lake Sunapee in the Dartmouth/Lake Sunapee region. Once the evening rolls around, consider capping off your day with a lake or river cruise to watch vibrant sunsets blaze across the sky.

After Hours

Just because the sun goes down doesn’t mean the fun has to stop. You can fill your evening with a captivating show at one of the state’s renowned performance venues to get lost in an epic tale or dance your cares away in the crowd of a live concert. Then pick a local brewery to kick back and relax at. And when you don’t want the night to end, there are plenty of unique adventures after dark you can add to your itinerary to keep the good times going!
