Endicott Rock Historic Site

Overview

May be New England's oldest public monument. Surveyors commissioned by Royal Governor John Endicott of the Massachusetts Bay Colony inscribed their initials on the rock in 1652. The rock marked the assumed headwaters of the Merrimack River.
