Fun They’ll Never Forget

You know what you loved about summer vacation as a kid—those classic family attractions complete with characters, games, rides and water slides. They are still plenty of those options for your family this summer in New Hampshire. So here are six awesome New Hampshire spots across the state (recommended by Visit NH’s Facebook fans!) that’ll not only keep the kids entertained, but create laughs and lasting memories to boot!

1. Clark’s Trading Post Eighty-nine years and still going strong. No wonder...the live bear shows are captivating. The rides and museums excite. But beware of the Wolfman when you hop on that train...you may just BEARLY escape!

2.  Storyland This one-of-a-kind New Hampshire attraction is a classic storybook adventure that kids love. Start your day with Humpty Dumpty and his famous wall, take a ride in Cinderella’s pumpkin or dare to set sail on the pirate ship. But the fun doesn’t stop there. Pack your day with rides (don’t miss the Roar-O-Saurus roller coaster!), trains, carousels, animals, and interactive shows featuring Rory the Dinosaur.

3.  Santa’s Village Dreams do come true...at Santa’s Village, as generations of families can attest! It’s here in this magical place that the North Pole comes alive and kids can experience it all from feeding reindeer and riding in the sled, to shows, playing the Elfabet Game and riding the Yule Log Flume Ride and other water fun. So ho-ho-hop over to Jefferson, New Hampshire this summer!

4.  Water Country Spend a warm summer day slip slidin’ away at Water Country—it’s a water park mecca! Waterslides, wave pools, kiddie areas, pirate ships and whirlpools provide wet and wild fun for all ages. Bonus, this one happens to be in Portsmouth—a place even National Geographic swears by.

5.  Funspot It’s not called Funspot for nothing—this Lakes Region attraction was named “World's Largest Arcade” by Guinness World Records in 2008, and the associated American Classic Arcade Museum has hundreds of vintage games kids and adults alike will adore. The place to play this summer, Fun Spot also boasts bowling, bingo, mini golf. Word of warning though: It might be tough to call it quits and get the kids to come with you. Par for the course!

6. Monkey Trunks with locations in both the Weirs Beach and Tamworth, this could be just the place to keep your little monkeys busy! A cross between an aerial trekking tour and ziplining, Monkey Trunks has a kids course, and a range of other ropes challenges and ziplines (totaling 1,800 feet of tree-top fun!).

7.  Everyone will be tuckered out after all the action though, so be sure to find the perfect place to stay. Our Facebook fans say Red Jacket, Nordic Village and North Conway Grand Hotel in the White Mountains are wonderful family-friendly options.
