Overview

Join us as Aimee Cozza discusses The Lucky Machine, a sci-fi story about NX, an android who escapes a life of servitude and memory wipes in a stratified, dystopian city. Hiding in the lower levels, she forms an unlikely friendship with a struggling cyborg named Sylvan, helping him rediscover his creative ambitions while learning what it means to have autonomy and purpose. But as forces close in to capture or destroy her, NX must rely on her newfound connections and a bit of luck to survive.

Aimee Cozza is a freelance illustrator, web designer, and author from New England. She graduated from New England College (Formerly New Hampshire Institute of Art) in 2012 with a BFA in illustration. Aimee primarily focuses on subjects related to the dark-beautiful, surreal, and unsettling, within the genres of sci-fi and fantasy, often mixing or blurring the two. She enjoys exploring themes such as duality, disconnection, doomed romance, and mental illness/trauma. Her debut sci-fi novella, The Warm Machine, was published in 2024 following a successful crowdfunding campaign and received a positive reception.
