Overview
Alex Minasian is a versatile pianist, educator, and bandleader whose dynamic career spans jazz, soul, and popular music. A graduate of New York University, Minasian studied with legendary pianists including Hank Jones, Don Friedman, and Jean-Michel Pilc.
He has performed at premier venues including Birdland, Blue Note Jazz Club, Village Vanguard, and Jazz at Lincoln Center, sharing the stage with artists such as Arturo Sandoval, Questlove, Clark Terry, and Hugh Masekela.
Minasian was the final pianist for NEA Jazz Master Little Jimmy Scott and currently tours with Little Anthony and the Imperials and soul legend Candi Staton, while remaining an active presence on the New York jazz scene.
