Overview

Andy McKee, one of the world’s finest acoustic guitarists, returns after nearly a decade with his EP Symbol (Sept 17, 2021), featuring six tracks inspired by legendary artists. McKee draws from his musical influences, including Michael Hedges, Preston Reed, Billy McLaughlin, and Prince, delivering unique renditions of their works. Notably, his interpretation of Prince’s “Purple Rain” reflects his past collaboration with the artist. McKee also offers his take on Preston Reed’s “Chattanooga,” calling it one of the finest fingerstyle pieces. The EP includes a collaboration with Vince DiCola on a Rocky IV medley, a nod to McKee’s childhood admiration for DiCola’s music. Known for his innovative guitar techniques, McKee’s viral success on YouTube, where his song ‘Drifting’ garnered millions of views, has solidified his status as a pioneering artist. His international tours and guitar retreat, Musicarium, further showcase his influential career.
