Blues on the Corner: McCoy Tyner Legacy Band honors the enduring music and spirit of jazz legend McCoy Tyner, led by world-renowned drummer Francisco Mela, a longtime Tyner sideman and trusted collaborator. Praised by Tyner himself for his singular sound and style, Mela brings deep authenticity and fire to this all-star tribute.
The band features Venezuelan-American pianist Benito Gonzalez, widely recognized as the modern torchbearer of Tyner's powerful yet lyrical piano language, alongside acclaimed bassist Nat Reeves, whose resonant tone anchors the ensemble. Tenor saxophone master Jerry Bergonzi appears as a featured guest, bringing his unmistakable voice to Tyner's timeless repertoire.
