Hands-on History Center: Colonial Kitchen
Overview
Join us for fun, hands-on activities to learn how people lived in the 1700s!
How did people get and keep food fresh before grocery stores and refrigerators? The Hands-on History Day Drop-In Center offers an opportunity for your family to delve into that history in an interactive way. This drop-in experience, led by Museum Educators, will demonstrate the history of how people in the 1700s prepared and preserved their food. Participants will practice techniques such as churning butter, making teas, and pickling, and go home with materials to continue the fun. All members of the family can participate in these activities together!
Historical Society of Cheshire County Members- Contact Michelle Walker, Director of Education ([email protected]), for a code to receive $2 off your registration!

Their generous support makes exhibitions, public programming, and preservation work possible.
