Overview

In January of 2026, Bethlehem, NH resident Renee Blacken set off from Lanzarote in the Canary Islands alone in a wooden rowboat, without a chase boat, to cross the Atlantic Ocean in its entirety as a part of an event called The Atlantic Dash. Sixty-five days and 3200 miles later she landed in Antigua in the Caribbean, becoming only the fourth American woman to row solo across the Atlantic. She rowed to support the nonprofit Outdoor Adventuring for Good, whose mission is to raise awareness of and funding for trauma recovery programs that integrate mind and body healing in northern NH. The row was also a journey of personal transformation for Renee, who is herself a survivor of complex trauma. Come learn about The Atlantic Dash, everything involved in the two years of preparation to get to the starting line, and the challenges and joys of crossing the open ocean alone.
