Let's Talk Nature: The Hidden Kingdom of Fungi
Overview
From the mushrooms we notice after a rain to the vast underground networks we never see, fungi are quietly sustaining life on Earth. They build soil, support forests through mycorrhizal networks, store enormous amounts of carbon, and even contribute trillions of dollars in economic value worldwide. And yet, they remain largely overlooked in conservation policy.
Join us for a relaxed, community-centered conversation inspired by a thought-provoking article from Yale Environment 360 that explores the growing movement to recognize fungi as essential players in ecosystems — on par with plants and animals.
At each “Let’s Talk Nature” gathering, we share a short article in advance and come together for an informal discussion. Similar to a book group but designed for easy drop-in participation, each session stands on its own, so you can join anytime.
No expertise required. Bring your curiosity and a willingness to listen and share. Warm drinks and cookies provided.
