Overview
Live Animal Presentation with a Naturalist: Animal Adaptations
Event date: Sep 27, 2026
Lost River Gorge has partnered with the Squam Lakes Natural Science Center to offer a Live Animal Presentation, included with admission, beginning at 10:30 a.m. on select dates at the Forest Treehouse. Join a Squam Lakes Natural Science Center naturalist to meet two live wild animals you might encounter in New Hampshire’s forests, fields, or wetlands, learn about their roles in larger ecosystems, and discover the unique adaptations that help them thrive—perhaps even right in your own backyard.
Sunday September 27 at 10:30 am: Animal Adaptations
What do a turtle’s shell, a skunk’s stripes, and an owl’s talons all have in common? They are all examples of adaptations that help the animal survive. Join a Squam Lakes Natural Science Center naturalist to meet some of our animal ambassadors and discover the adaptations that help them survive and thrive in the wild places they live.
Book your reservation in advance as capacity is reduced to enhance the visitor experience.
