Newfound Watershed Workshop
Overview
From managing stormwater runoff on local roads to shaping land development through town ordinances, local governments play a critical role in protecting our lakes and natural resources. NLRA partners closely with watershed towns to advance innovative, lake-friendly land use practices.
The Watershed Workshop is a chance for town boards and committees to connect with one another and with NLRA, learn about available resources—including technical assistance, data, and planning support—and share updates on current and future work across the watershed. The program will include an overview of NLRA’s watershed-wide efforts to protect water quality, a summary of the current health of Newfound Lake based on the latest monitoring data, and updates on the discovery of spiny water flea and its implications for lake management and conservation.
The Watershed Workshop is designed for town board and committee members and is open to anyone interested in NLRA's work with local governments.
