NH Master Chorale Concerts Honors America’s 250th Birthday and the 25th Anniversary of 9/11
Overview
In recognition of America's 250th anniversary and the 25th anniversary of September 11, the New Hampshire Master Chorale presents Song of Democracy, a powerful concert exploring the ideals, challenges, and shared experiences that have shaped the American story.
Featuring works by acclaimed American composers including Howard Hanson, Frank Ticheli, Charles Ives, Randall Thompson, Irving Berlin, and Mari Esabel Valverde, the program reflects on themes of democracy, hope, education, immigration, environmental stewardship, civil rights, and community. The concert culminates with music inspired by the remarkable acts of kindness and compassion shown in Gander, Newfoundland, following the events of September 11, 2001.
Through music that is both inspiring and thought-provoking, Song of Democracy invites audiences to reflect on the nation's founding principles, its ongoing journey toward a more perfect union, and the enduring power of humanity in times of challenge.
