"Peace Amidst Chaos" on World Labyrinth Day at Petals in the Pines!
Overview
Visit our Labyrinths and Outdoor Classroom!
A week ahead of our official Mother's Day weekend season start (May 10), we will be open on Saturday May 3rd from 9am-6pm as a participating site for "World Labyrinth Day" (WLD). This special day focuses on connecting people of all faiths (or none) to the beauty and peace of labyrinth walking near where they live. There are less than 40 labyrinths in New Hampshire that can be visited by the public. Petals in the Pines offers two unique woodland labyrinths--see descriptions below.
World Labyrinth Day (WLD) admission: $7 per person (infants are free) or FREE with the purchase of a 2025 Season Pass on or before that day. WLD includes both labyrinths, 2+ miles of trails/paths, plus use of the Arbor Day-certified Outdoor Classroom / play-space / picnic area. Register and pay on the Farm Stand Porch when you arrive.
Hike at your own risk--watch out for slippery rocks! Sturdy shoes are recommended. The trails are not suitable for strollers; Please leave pets at home.
Our theme for the day is "Peace Amidst Chaos," to highlight the healing power of quietly spending time in woodlands, gardens, and meadows--especially during times of upheaval and displacement. In our fast-changing and confusing world, many people find clarity, peace, and renewal in quiet rhythmic practices such as yoga, tai chi, or labyrinth walking.
Activities offered on May 3rd include:
-Self-guided sketching, painting, and poetry-writing opportunities. We'll provide supplies but you can bring your own if you like.
-Finger labyrinths for kids
-Mandala-making with natural materials
-Shopping on the Farm Stand Porch: labyrinth jewelry, leaf stone bird baths, Swedish Almond Cakes, bug head-nets, and more!
SPECIAL OPTIONAL ACTIVITY: Nature Journaling from 2-3 PM with instructor Heidi Colburn, a certified Nature Journal Educator. Join us for a fun and engaging introductory workshop. Nature journaling is a great way to spark curiosity and deepen your connection with nature using just a pen or pencil and a notebook. This practice has been found to have positive physical, emotional, and environmental impacts! This event is open to all ages. We will be outside for an hour, so dress appropriately. Heidi will teach you about nature journaling and how to begin. You'll also have time to practice. Bring your own journal and writing/drawing implements. There will be nature journals available for sale the day of the event.
The Nature Journaling Workshop is $10/person. If you register in advance, you'll save $2/person off the regular $7 Petals in the Pines admission charge.
Space is limited.
