Rescue Run: Race for Marine Mammals 2026 | Saturday, May 2nd at 9 am
Short: Ready, set, save the seals! Join us for our 17th annual Rescue Run: Race for Marine Mammals on Saturday, May 2, 2026, hosted by Seacoast Science Center.. This event features a 5K trail run or walk, plus kids' fun runs and a beach cleanup, with proceeds supporting the SSC Marine Mammal Rescue team. Lace up and hit the seaside trails of Odiorne Point State Park in Rye, NH. What better way to support our team’s wildlife conservation, educational outreach, and public safety initiatives. This event is presented by our sponsor, Meredith Village Savings Bank, as well as supporting sponsors New Hampshire State Parks.
The day includes a 5K trail race through Odiorne Point State Park featuring varied terrain—you’ll run, or walk, through the forest, by the rocky shore, across a sandy beach, and alongside historic military fortifications—and enjoy sweeping vistas of the Gulf of Maine and Little Harbor. Following the race, we’ll welcome participants, along with their families and friends, back to Seacoast Science Center, where prizes will be awarded. Then watch our littlest runners in our Kids Fun Runs, featuring a 300-yard dash for ages 1-7 and a half-mile run for children ages 8-12. We’ll end the day with a Beach Cleanup along the shoreline in the Park, hosted by our partners at Blue Ocean Society.

5K Trail Run/Walk Participant Fees:
5K Trail Race (ages 13+): $35 until 4/1/26 ($45 after 4/1)
5k Trail Race (ages 6-12): $25 until 4/1/26 ($30 after 4/1)
5k Trail Race (under age 6): FREE
Kids Fun Run (up to age 12)-300 yard dash or half mile run: $12
Please note: *Registration closes at 9pm on Thursday, 4/30 (onsite registration will be available Saturday before the run from 7:30–8:30am).
This year’s official race t-shirt is a moisture-wicking performance short-sleeve shirt in adult sizes only. The first 150 registrants receive a FREE shirt. Race shirts are also available for purchase for just $20 during the registration process.
The Kids Fun Run features a 300-yard dash for ages 1-7 and a half-mile run for children ages 8-12. Every child that participates in the Fun Run wins a prize!
