Dan Habib is an award-winning filmmaker, disability rights advocate, and Director of the Inclusive Communities Project at the Westchester Institute for Human Development. He is the founder of LikeRightNow Films and the director and producer of nationally broadcast documentaries including Intelligent Lives, Including Samuel, Who Cares About Kelsey?, and Mr. Connolly Has ALS. His films have been featured at dozens of film festivals, translated into 17 languages, and used worldwide to advance inclusive education and disability rights.

Habib’s most recent projects include the Emmy Award–winning My Disability Roadmap (New York Times, 2022) and The Ride Ahead (PBS, 2025), both co-directed with his son, Samuel Habib. The Ride Ahead follows Samuel as he navigates work, college, and relationships while engaging with disability activists across the country to explore what an inclusive future can look like.

A nationally recognized speaker, Habib delivered the 2014 TEDx talk “Disabling Segregation” and has received numerous honors, including the Champion of Human and Civil Rights Award from the National Education Association and the Justice for All Grassroots Award from the American Association of People with Disabilities. He also served on President Barack Obama’s President’s Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities from 2014–2017.

Dan Habib lives in Concord, New Hampshire, with his wife, Betsy McNamara, and is the proud father of two sons, Isaiah and Samuel.
