Overview

The Town of Wilton invites all New Hampshire residents and visitors to a landmark day of living history, community, and commemoration. Join us for immersive Revolutionary War reenactments in the heart of historic downtown Wilton — one of southern New Hampshire's most storied small towns. Then witness a deeply meaningful piece of history as Wilton officially adds a new soldier to its war memorial, Pomp Russell, an enslaved man who served his country during the Revolutionary War. Made possible through years of careful historical research, this dedication ensures that every name — and every sacrifice — is finally honored. The day will highlight a community bell ringing procession through downtown, live music, children’s games, and a BBQ bringing neighbors, families, and visitors together in the true spirit of New Hampshire's 250th anniversary.
