Snowmobile Conditions

Weather is a bit warm today, but above the Notch it is supposed to cool down again this weekend and it looks like it may snow there towards the end of next week.

A reminder that in NH the maximum speed limit is 45 mph.  Depending upon trail conditions it can be less, so pay attention to signage!

The 26th Annual NH SnoDeo will be on March 2nd and 3rd this year at the Swift Diamond Riders’ Clubhouse.

Railroad Corridors

Riding on ACTIVE railroad tracks is illegal and extremely dangerous.  Riders should not operate along, within, or across active railroads.  Railroads that become snowmobile trails are signed open for winter use and are listed below.

Please note that if an area is not listed below it should be considered as no reportable riding.  Check with local clubs for trail status and conditions before going out.

Great North Woods Region

Pittsburg
Open, groomed, great conditions.  Warming Hut is open on Saturdays from 10 to 3.

Diamond Pond/Coleman State Park
Open, groomed, good to great conditions.  Stay off plowed logging roads unless they are signed OPEN and then use caution.  Warming Hut is open on Saturdays from 9 to 4 and Sundays from 9 to 2.

Colebrook
Open, groomed, good to great conditions.

Errol/Millsfield
Open, groomed, good conditions.  Stay off plowed logging roads unless they are signed OPEN and then use caution.  

Stratford
Open, groomed, good to great conditions.

Groveton/Nash Stream
Open, groomed, good conditions.

Cambridge/Milan
Open, groomed, good to great conditions.

Berlin/Success
Open, groomed, good to great conditions.  Logging on Corridor 19 north of Club House Road, road plowed – use CAUTION!  Steak feed Cookout @ club house February 17th 11 to 3.

Whitefield to Groveton Rail Corridor (Corridor 5A)
CLOSED for the season.

Lancaster
Open, groomed, some open water bars, good conditions.

Whitefield
Open, groomed, good conditions.  Waumbek Trail CLOSED for season.

Dalton
Open, groomed, good conditions.

White Mountain Region

Ammonoosuc Recreational Rail Trail
Open, groomed, moderate conditions.  Winter OHRV use (65” max width).

Presidential Recreational Rail Trail
Gates are open, groomed, moderate conditions.

Concord to Lincoln Rail Corridor (Exit 18/Canterbury to Exit 32/Lincoln)
South of Meredith is not groomed, other section is groomed.  No riding south of Exit 18.  Rails are exposed – use CAUTION!

Littleton
Open, groomed, great conditions.  Rails & switches still in place on PT 105N – use CAUTION!  Poker Run, Saturday, February 17th, Meadows Leasing, 1019 Meadow St., Littleton, 8:30 to 4.

Gorham
Open, groomed, good to great conditions.  Corridor 19S from Town & Country groomed only as conditions allow.  Corridor 19A (Moose Brook State Park) is CLOSED due to logging.

Jefferson
Open, groomed, good conditions.  Corrido 11/Pond of Safety has logging going on – use CAUTION!  Club House open for breakfast and lunch on weekends.  Steak feed/Poker Run Sunday, February 18th at club house, 116 Presidential Hwy, Jefferson, 9 to 3.

Lisbon
Open, groomed, great conditions.  Breezy Hill Loop is now open.  Club Trail 4 in Landaff and Club Trail 8 Oregon Loop from Walker Hill are CLOSED.

Twin Mountain
Open, groomed, moderate to good conditions, southern trail being moderate.  The Little River Bridge (Twin Mtn Connector Trail) is CLOSED due to flood damage – DO NOT CROSS!  Rails may be exposed on PT 102 – use CAUTION!

Franconia Notch Bike Path
Open, groomed, good conditions.  Corridor 11N to Twin Mountain is moderate.

Campton/Thornton
Open, groomed, good to great conditions.

Bridgewater
Open, groomed, good conditions.

Bear Notch/Bartlett
Open, groomed, good to great conditions.  Sawyer River Road is CLOSED for the season.  May be exposed rails on tracks – use CAUTION!

North Haverhill/Woodsville
Corridor 5N groomed, great conditions, Corridor 5S groomed, good conditions, Club trails groomed, good conditions.  North-South Road in Benton is CLOSED for the season.  Club Poker Run/Radar Run, Sunday, February 18th, Keith’s Field North Haverhill, 10 to 1.

Conway/Evans Notch
Open, groomed, moderate to good conditions.  Use CAUTION on rail road tracks as exposed rails, thin coverage.

Dartmouth/Lake Sunapee Region

Northern Recreational Rail Trail
Gates are open, good to great conditions.  Grooming when temps allows.  Please watch for other trail users and yield to them.

Sugar River Recreational Rail Trail
Gates are open, moderate conditions.  Grooming has ceased at this time.  OHRV use (50” max width).

Andover
Open, moderate conditions.  Grooming when temps allow.  345 from Andover towards Bristol CLOSED.

Enfield/Lebanon
Open, fair to good conditions.  Grooming has ceased until weather conditions improve.  Trail from airport to Interchange Drive is CLOSED for the season.  Quiet hours of 9pm to 6am have been enacted on Corridor 5 south from rail bed to US Route 4 per landowner – go slow during these hours if you must pass.
 
Lyme
Open, moderate conditions.  Grooming when temps allow.

Pillsbury State Park
Open, marginal spring like conditions.

Wentworth (Baker River)
Open, groomed, moderate conditions.

Lakes Region

Farmington Recreation Rail Trail
Gates are open, no reportable riding at this time.

Ashland/Holderness
Open, groomed, moderate to good conditions.  Use CAUTION on trail near river in Plymouth as overflow ice in area.  Trail access from Big Squam to Holderness store is CLOSED.

Castle in the Clouds
Open, groomed, marginal to moderate conditions.  Higher elevations better than below.  Corridor 26 out of parking lot is now OPEN.  Carriage House Trail will not be open due to temps and conditions of road.

Moultonborough
90% open, grooming where conditions warrant, marginal to good conditions.  No connection to Sandwich Notch from Squam, use Corridor 15 to Meredith or Little Squam Trail from Mug Trail.  Kona Trail to Kona Farm Road is CLOSED for the season.  Corridor 26, Caverly Road section, from Castle Parking Lot has been CLOSED again.

Ossipee
75% open, groomed, moderate to good conditions.  Corridor 19 has exposed rails – use CAUTION!  Trail to Sandwich Notch from White Lake State Park is CLOSED for the season.

Sanbornton
Open, fair conditions.  Open water bars and ice chunks along Pemigewasset River – use CAUTION!

Wakefield
75% open, groomed, good conditions.  Rail road tracks have few spots of rail showing - use CAUTION!  Corridor 22S CLOSED for season at junction with Corridor 19 to Browns Ridge Road, stay on 19 to head south.

Wolfeboro
95% open, groomed, good conditions.  Trail into downtown is OPEN.  Corridor 26, Caverly Road section, from Castle Parking Lot has been CLOSED again.

Merrimack Valley Region

Bear Brook State Park
Open, grooming only as conditions warrant it, marginal conditions.  Winter OHRV use (50” max width).

Greenfield State Park
No reportable riding at this time.

Hopkinton/Everett Riding Area
Open.  Grooming has ceased at this time.  OHRV/Trail Bike riders – STAY ON OHRV TRAILS & OFF SNOWMOBILE ONLY TRAILS!!

Pawtuckaway State Park
Open, grooming only as conditions warrant it, marginal conditions.  Winter OHRV use (50” max width).

Weare
East Weare trails are open, moderate conditions.  Grooming has ceased at this time.

Monadnock Region

Ashuelot Recreational Rail Trail
Gates open, moderate to good conditions.  Some thin areas.  Grooming as temps allow.  

Cheshire Recreational Rail Trail
Gates open, no reportable riding at this time.

Fort Hill Recreational Rail Trail
Gates open, no reportable riding at this time.  Grooming has ceased at this time.  Watch for ice fishing activity on causeway.

Hillsborough Recreational Rail Trail
Gates open.

Pisgah State Park
Open, marginal spring like conditions.  Grooming has ceased at this time.

Seacoast Region

Rockingham Recreational Rail Trail
Gates open, not groomed, marginal conditions.  Winter OHRV use (50” max width) from Epping to Windham ONLY (Fremont Branch).
