Discover a New Sport This Summer
Discover OHRVing this summer in New Hampshire. No experience necessary to try this sport, and between the adrenaline and freedom you’ll find on the trails—it won’t be long until you’re planning your next ride. Besides, New Hampshire is the best place to OHRV since one of the nation’s longest interconnected trail systems stretches more than 1,000-miles through our forests. Riders love it so much that there are countless volunteer organizations dedicated to maintaining and building trailways to expand our network each year. If that’s not reason in itself to give the sport a try, we don’t know what is!

1. You don’t have to drive. Off highway recreational vehicles (OHRVs) come in all shapes and sizes. If you’d rather not be the master of your own machine, you can rent ones that fit two, four or six people at a time, allowing you to sit back, enjoy the ride, and stay fairly close to your comfort zone.
Wildly Responsible Tip: Always wear a properly fitted helmet, even when you’re not the driver. This helps protect you in case of any rough trailways – and helps keep the mud off your face!
2. Doing something new is good for you. This outing may not be your Everest, but the stress-relieving rush of adrenaline and feeling of accomplishment you’ll have after your OHRVing day is done will be super satisfying.
Wildly Responsible Tip: Arrive prepared for your time riding on the trails. Pack for the weather, and keep in mind your clothing may get a little dirty. It’s OHRVing, after all!
3. It’ll be an unforgettable adventure. As Amelia Earhart once said, “Adventure is worthwhile in itself.” Whether you just try it once or come back for more year after year, OHRVing will have you and your friends fondly recalling the experience for a lifetime.
Wildly Responsible Tip: Be sure to ride within your ability, and respect other trail users you meet along the way. The same goes for any wildlife encountered on the trails – keep your distance for your safety, and theirs.
4. It’s an incredible way to see the state. New Hampshire is the ATVing epicenter of New England. Its vast network of well-maintained trails spanning over 1,200 miles including Ride the Wilds, allow you to tour the state in the most unique way possible. You can be immersed in natural bliss and taking a refreshing dip in a river one moment, then crossing quaint covered bridges and stopping through charming towns for a bite to eat, the next.
Wildly Responsible Tip: Stay on marked trails and carry a map so you know you’re covered if you take a wrong turn. Respect all trail markers and follow OHRV safety guidelines.
5. New Hampshire’s soul-soothing beauty. Approximately 85 percent of the state is covered in lush forest full of geological wonders formed over millions of years. This perhaps helps explain the astonishing allure of The Great North Woods. Being out in all that flawless fresh air and raw, pristine wilderness will stop you in your ATV tracks, guaranteed. No need to fly to Alaska to experience nature’s paradise. It’s all within a scenic road trip to New Hampshire.
